Regional Studies Center Symposium on American Strategy toward the Middle East
Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Qusay Al-Ahmadi, President of the University of Mosul, the Department of Political and Strategic Studies at Regional Studies Center held the international scientific electronic symposium titled (The Constant and Changed: America’s Strategy toward the Middle East), on Sunday, February 14, 2021.The symposium aimed at describing and analyzing the American strategy in the Middle East region, especially after President Joe Biden assumed the power in the White House, in light of the changes taking place in the region, as the role of the United States of America in making it or influencing is not hidden from view, as the most important international actor.The symposium had the participation of a group of professors and researchers from inside and outside Iraq, during which the participants presented research papers that discussed the topic of the symposium in all its aspects, and in the end discussions and comments took place covering the perspectives of the same topic, that was followed by the recommendations which emphasized that the Iraqi political decision-makers should unify the political discourse regarding the nature of the relationship with the United States of America, and benefit from the agreements concluded between the two parties and that a popular and official public awareness should be established intending to build good relations with the United States, taking into account the national interests of Arab countries and benefiting from the experience of the Arab countries that have succeeded in this way.
