Iran and the States of North Africa, a New Book by a Professor at Regional Studies Center

A new book by Prof. Dr. Mohammed Abdulrahman Al-Obeidi, head of the Department of Historical and Cultural Studies at the Regional Studies Center, is entitled “Iran and the North African States: Studies in Iran’s Relations with Egypt, Sudan and the Maghreb.” The book, published by Dar Mashki for Printing, Publishing, and Distribution in Iraq-Mosul, first edition 2025 and has 325 large-size pages.
The book aims to study and analyze Iran’s relations with Arab countries in Africa, with a focus on Egypt, Sudan and the Maghreb countries. The author seeks to trace the course of these relations and understand their reality within the framework of Iranian-Afro-Arab relations, in addition to clarifying the factors that influenced their development and their repercussions on Arab-Iranian relations in general.
The book includes nine main chapters, as well as an introduction, conclusion, and appendices, in which the author provides a comprehensive and detailed vision of the history of Iranian relations with these countries, pointing to the political, economic, and cultural dimensions that contributed to the formation of these ties.
