Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Qusay Kamal Al-Din Al-Ahmadi, President of Mosul University; and under the supervision of Assist. Prof. Dr. Nawfal Qasim Ali Al-Shahwan, Regional Studies Center held a workshop entitled “Ethics of Scientific Research” on June 22, 2022, at the University of Mosul.The workshop aimed to identify the ethics of scientific research and its importance in assisting researchers and graduate students and enabling them to carry out scientific research correctly and scientifically; in a way that contributes to enhancing the value of research scientifically and academically and raises its position locally, Arab and internationally.The workshop addressed the following topics:1- Scientific research: importance, classification, obstacles: Assist. Prof. Dr. Afrah Nather Jassim.2- Scientific Research Ethics: Assist. Prof. Dr. Mohammad Abdul Rahman Younis.3- Researcher quality assurance standards and scientific research: Assist. Prof. Dr. Kifah Abbas Ramadan.After the workshop, the following recommendations were emphasized:- Urging researchers and postgraduate students to learn the basics and ethics of scientific research to abide by them during research.- The inclusion of a subject entitled the ethics of scientific research to be taught to postgraduate students in Iraqi universities, and the giving lectures or educational courses for them in this field.-Directing researchers and graduate students to benefit from research centers to develop their abilities in the field of writing scientific research because of its significance, knowledge, and experience in writing scientific research.
