Regional Studies Center Holds a Seminar on the future of Iraqi-Turkish relations

Regional Studies Center held a seminar for “the research titled “The Future of Iraqi-Turkish Relations, Opportunities, and Obstacles,” presented by Assist. Prof. Dr. Batoul Halayil Al-Moussawi” on January 28, 2024.

The researcher stated that the importance of her research comes from the level of influence of Iraqi-Turkish relations on the Iraqi situation regarding economic, political, and security aspects in general, given the depth of historical ties, neighborhood ties, and common issues that bring the two countries together by the geostrategic reality imposed on them.

The seminar aimed to anticipate the future of Iraqi-Turkish relations, taking into account the elements of cooperation, the obstacles that stand in the way of those relations, and the surrounding international and regional developments.

The seminar covered four sections: The first one presented a historical overview of Iraqi-Turkish relations, while the second section reviewed opportunities for cooperation in Iraqi-Turkish relations. The third section discussed the sources of disagreement in Iraqi-Turkish relations, and the fourth one dealt with Iraqi-Turkish relations. In conclusion, the seminar witnessed interventions and discussions that enriched its topic.
