Regional Studies Center Holds a Workshop on Illegal Migration Impact on Individual and Society

Regional Studies Center held a workshop entitled “The Impact of Illegal Migration on the Individual and Society”, on 23 June 2024.

The workshop aimed to define the concept of illegal migration as moving from one country to another in violation of the laws in force in the destination country, by entering the country without official status, as well as reviewing its negative effects on the migrant person and the target country.

The workshop consisted of three themes: The first theme dealt with ” Migration between push, expulsion and attraction ” presented by Assist. Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Khalaf Mohammad, while the second theme dealt with “The Iraqi community and host communities” presented by Assist. Lecturer Ola Mumtaz Ismail, and the third theme discussed “The negative effects of illegal migration on the individual and society” presented by Assist. Lecturer Munjid Mohammad Fawzi. In conclusion, the workshop witnessed extensive interventions and discussions that enriched its topic.
