Regional Studies Center Holds a Seminar on Turkey’s Role in the International Development Road Project
Regional Studies Center held a seminar for the research entitled “Turkey’s Role in the International Development Road” by Assist. Lecturer Fawzi Mohammad Saleh on December 8, 2024.
The seminar aimed to shed light on the International Development Road project in Iraq and Turkey’s effective role in completing this vital commercial project that connects Iraq to Europe.
The seminar started by introducing the idea of the project, which is a commercial artery linking Iraq to Europe, reviewing its beginnings and its regional and international dimensions. The first section of the discussion addressed the different positions on the project at the regional and global levels, highlighting its economic and geopolitical aspects. In the second section, Turkey’s role in the project was emphasized, especially in coordinating with Iraq and Arab countries to facilitate its implementation, thereby enhancing regional cooperation. The discussions also addressed Turkish efforts to secure logistical routes and technical support.
The seminar concluded with a discussion of the practical steps taken to implement the project, including the signing of agreements and infrastructure. Participants emphasized the value of joint cooperation to achieve the project’s objectives and promote sustainable development in the region.
