University of Mosul Brings Joy This Ramadan: Regional Studies Center Distributes Eid Gifts to Orphaned Students

As part of the Ramadan Volunteer Initiative launched by the University of Mosul, and within the framework of the “Ramadan and Eid Happiness” program, the Regional Studies Center carried out a second humanitarian volunteer initiative on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, distributing Eid gifts to a number of orphaned students at the charitable Amaluna Elementary School on the Western side of Mosul.
The initiative aimed to instill values of social solidarity and strengthen the spirit of volunteerism during the holy month of Ramadan, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly No Poverty (1), Quality Education (4), and Reduced Inequalities (10).
The event was attended by several center staff members who joined in bringing smiles to the children’s faces, emphasizing the importance of supporting this group and promoting their social inclusion. The initiative also included simple interactive activities designed to bring joy and happiness to the students’ hearts in anticipation of Eid al-Fitr.
This initiative continues the University of Mosul’s ongoing efforts to serve the local community and reflects its humanitarian and educational role, as such activities contribute to reinforcing values of solidarity and compassion and building a more cohesive and just society.
