Regional Studies Center Holds a Seminar on Centrality of Iraqi National Security Amid Regional and International Challenges

Regional Studies Center / Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the Studies and Planning Department / Sustainable Development Unit, organized a seminar on Sunday, May 24, 2026, entitled “The Centrality of Iraqi National Security in Light of Regional and International Challenges”. The event was attended by a number of academics, researchers, and individuals interested in security and political affairs.
The seminar aimed to highlight the importance of strengthening Iraqi national security in the face of ongoing regional and international developments, as well as emphasizing the role of academic institutions in promoting stability and sustainable development. The session addressed the major security, political, and economic challenges facing Iraq, while presenting academic perspectives that contribute to social stability and enhanced institutional cooperation.
The seminar concluded by stressing the importance of scientific dialogue in reinforcing the concepts of security and development, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
