Regional Studies Center at the University of Mosul launched its scientific activities for the 2026/2027 academic year on September 6, 2026, by organizing a specialized seminar entitled: “The U.S.–Iran War: Implications and Transformations in the Regional Order”

The seminar provided a multidimensional analysis of the war and its repercussions for the regional and international environment, addressing five key areas:

🔹 Political Dimension:
Dr. Tareq Mohammad Tayeb Al-Qassar

🔹 Security and Military Dimension:
Dr. Mithaq Khairallah Jaloud

🔹 Economic Dimension:
Dr. Ahmad Ghazi Taher

🔹 Technological Dimension:
Lect. Abdulghafour Waadallah Al-Shammaa

The presentations examined the various dimensions of the war and its legal, political, security, economic, and technological repercussions, with particular emphasis on its potential implications for Iraq’s security and stability and its position within regional power balances.

The seminar forms part of the Regional Studies Center’s ongoing efforts to bring current regional and international issues into the sphere of academic debate and to strengthen its role as a research platform contributing to the analysis of rapidly evolving developments and anticipating their implications for Iraq and the wider region.

With this seminar, the Center officially marks the beginning of its new academic season, guided by a multidisciplinary research approach that seeks to examine events from complementary and interconnected perspectives.
