Regional Studies Journal Unit Holds Meeting to Review Work Challenges and Enhance Performance

Regional Studies Journal Unit at the Regional Studies Center of the University of Mosul held a meeting on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, to review the journal’s progress, identify the key challenges it faces, and explore ways to enhance its performance and advance the standard of academic publishing.
The meeting included a review of the journal’s self-assessment and an examination of the extent to which its procedures and standards comply with the requirements of international rankings and indexing databases, particularly with regard to research quality, international visibility, publication ethics, and indexing and classification requirements.
The meeting also discussed the restructuring of the Journal Unit for the new academic year in line with the requirements of the upcoming phase. The restructuring is intended to enhance the efficiency of editorial and administrative work, improve the journal’s quality, and strengthen its presence within local and international academic circles.
The participants emphasized the importance of continuing to work in accordance with a clear development plan aimed at meeting rigorous standards of scholarly publishing and strengthening the position of the Regional Studies Journal among academic journals seeking inclusion in international indexing databases and rankings.
