Regional Studies Center has held a seminar entitled (Protecting Women’s Rights from Abuses within the Scope of the Convention Rules of International Humanitarian Law) by Dr. Ziyad Abdul-Wahab Al-Nuaimi, in the presence of the Center’s researchers on Wednesday, 25 September 2019.The researcher pointed out that the violations suffered by women during armed conflicts such as rape, slavery, forced marriage or trafficking in women , negatively affecting them and other forms of violence and the position of the judiciary four Geneva Conventions of these crimes ; also, explaining the position of the international judiciary, as well as resolutions adopted by the Security Council in this regard.Dr. Al-Nuaimi also discussed the forms of international protection to stop such violations, such as the position of the international judiciary, the formation of the International Criminal Court in Yugoslavia and Rwanda, the formation of the International Criminal Court in 1998, in addition to the UN Security Council resolutions on this type of violence from 2006 to 2013 that tackled the violations and violence that affect women during international and non-international armed conflicts.There have been extensive discussions on the subject of research by the researchers of the Center that have had an impact on enriching and evaluating the research.
