Regional Studies Center Organizes a Scientific Workshop on Women and Family Leadership

The Regional Studies Center, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit at the Presidency of the University of Mosul, organized a scientific workshop entitled Women and Family Leadership, presented by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Abdulrahman Al-Obaidi on March 2, 2025. The workshop aimed to shed light on women’s active role in family leadership and its impact on building strong and cohesive societies.
The workshop addressed several topics, including the role of women in decision-making within the family, the impact of family leadership on the upbringing of generations, in addition to the challenges women face in this field and how to enhance their leadership capabilities. The lecturers also discussed the importance of supporting women through societal and educational policies that enable them to balance their family responsibilities with their personal ambitions.
The workshop concluded with recommendations calling for enhancing community awareness of the significance of women’s role in family leadership and the need to provide a supportive environment for them to enable them to achieve their goals. Participants emphasized that empowering women is not only a right, but an investment in the future of the family and the entire community.
This workshop came as an important step towards enhancing community discussion on the role of women in family leadership, and emphasizing the importance of empowering them to build a strong family and a developed society.
