Regional Studies Center Council Receives Director of Studies and Research Unit at Community Police – Nineveh

Regional Studies Center Council at the University of Mosul received Mr. Saif Al-Din N. Hameedi, Director of the Studies and Research Unit of the Community Police in Nineveh, on Sunday, November 30, 2025, as part of the applied research efforts undertaken by the Center’s faculty members.
The meeting discussed the nature of the research projects currently pursued by the Center and the mechanisms for aligning them with its academic specializations and strategic directions. It also addressed prospects for cooperation in studying existing social phenomena and analyzing their local, regional, and international dimensions, in ways that contribute to practical solutions supporting community stability and enhancing human security.
The Council emphasized the importance of ongoing coordination with the Community Police and the exchange of research expertise, as this cooperation paves the way for joint projects that deepen understanding of current challenges and help formulate actionable, real-world recommendations.
This cooperation aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals, including supporting efforts to reduce poverty (Goal 1), promoting health and community well-being (Goal 3), strengthening the path toward quality education through research and knowledge (Goal 4), achieving equality and empowering different groups (Goal 5), in addition to its indirect role in enhancing community behaviors related to health and the environment (Goal 6), supporting a stable work environment that contributes to economic growth (Goal 8), reducing inequalities (Goal 10), building safer and more sustainable cities and communities (Goal 11), reinforcing the principles of peace, justice, and strong institutions (Goal 16), and promoting partnerships between research and security entities (Goal 17).
