Regional Studies Center Discusses Factors Influencing Iraqi Voters’ Electoral Behavior

Regional Studies Center, represented by the Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the Department of Studies and Planning, represented by the Sustainable Development Unit at the University Presidency, held a seminar on Sunday, October 4, 2026, entitled “Factors Influencing the Electoral Behavior of Iraqi Voters.”

The seminar aimed to enhance academic understanding of the social, political, economic, and cultural factors influencing voters’ orientations and to promote civic awareness and participation. It addressed the key determinants shaping electoral behavior, emphasizing the importance of awareness and responsibility in exercising the right to vote.

The seminar concluded by stressing the importance of continuing research and awareness-raising activities related to electoral affairs and sustainable community development.

The event contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly 4 (Quality Education), 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
