Remote Sensing Center

On the occasion of **International Geodiversity Day, the Remote Sensing Center at the University of Mosul organized a workshop titled “Natural Disasters and Climate Change from a Geological Perspective” at the center’s lecture hall on October 6, 2025.

The workshop was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Alaa Nabil Hamdoun, Head of the Disaster Risk Reduction Unit at the center, and attended by the center’s research staff as well as guests from the College of Environmental Sciences at the university.

The lecture highlighted the impact of geodiversity and its relationship with natural disasters and climate change, in addition to discussing scientific strategies and methods to mitigate associated risks.

This workshop is part of the center’s activities for International Geodiversity Day and reflects its ongoing efforts to promote awareness and encourage scientific research in geology and climate change.
