Remote Sensing Center Participates in the First International Book Forum and Exhibition at the University of Mosul

The Remote Sensing Center participated in the First International Book Forum and Exhibition held at the University of Mosul on Saturday, November 1, 2025, represented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Abdulrahman Ramzy Qubba, who chaired one of the scientific sessions organized on the sidelines of the event.

The session, titled “Sustainable Development through Geological Diversity – The City of Mosul as a Model,” featured Prof. Dr. Hadeer Ghazi Mohammed from the Center for Dams and Water Resources Research.

Discussions focused on the applications of geological diversity in Mosul to achieve sustainable economic growth and promote eco-tourism development, in addition to addressing the challenges and opportunities related to the responsible environmental and social management of geological resources.

The session also included an interactive discussion with the audience, whose scientific engagement enriched the dialogue and fostered the exchange of ideas among researchers and specialists.

This participation aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and Goal 15 (Life on Land), reaffirming the Center’s commitment to advancing environmental and economic sustainability in Mosul and beyond.
