Remote Sensing Center Concludes Summer Training for Computer Engineering College Students

The Remote Sensing Center at the University of Mosul concluded its summer training for students from the College of Computer Engineering at the University of Mosul. The training, which continued during the summer vacation, featured the participation of a group of distinguished professors.
On the first day, the students were welcomed by the Center’s Acting Director, Assistant Professor Dr. Abdulrahman Ramzi Quba, who took them on an introductory tour to familiarize them with the Center’s departments, laboratories, and units, as well as the Center’s work and research nature. The month-long training program included theoretical lectures and practical applications on specialized topics, including the principles of remote sensing and digital imagery; drone technologies and their role in collecting modern spatial data; and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) programs and applications. The training also aimed to enhance students’ skills and link academics with practical applications, enabling them to keep pace with technological developments and utilize them to serve the community. In line with Sustainable Development Goals, such as Goal 4, Goal 9, and Goal 11. At the end of the training, the students expressed their gratitude to the center’s management for this enriching experience, emphasizing that it contributed to expanding their knowledge and refining their scientific and practical expertise, serving their academic and professional futures.
