The Remote Sensing Center Participates in the Discussion of a Master’s Thesis at the College of Education for Humanities, University of Mosul

Professor Sabah Hussein Ali, a lecturer at the Remote Sensing Center, chaired the discussion committee for the master’s thesis submitted by student Abbas Ghanem Qanbar from the Department of Geography, College of Education for Humanities, University of Mosul, on Wednesday, September 3, 2025. The thesis, titled “Changing Solar Radiation in Iraq,” examined spatial and temporal changes in solar radiation in Iraq during the period (1990–2024), and the factors affecting it, such as cloud cover, dust storms, and humidity. The research utilized statistical analysis and geographic information systems (GIS) software to produce integrated maps to illustrate the results.The research is an important topic in the field of selecting suitable sites for solar energy farms, contributing to promoting the use of clean and renewable energy to achieve sustainable development goals in Iraq, such as Goals 3, 13, and 11.
