The Remote Sensing Center Participates in a Workshop on “Geodiversity and Its Impact on the Environment”
In cooperation with the Remote Sensing Center and the Sustainable Development Unit at the Presidency of the University of Mosul, and in conjunction with the celebration of the International Geodiversity Day, the Environmental Research Center organized a workshop entitled “Geodiversity and Its Impact on the Environment” on Monday, October 6, 2025.
The workshop aimed to highlight the importance of geodiversity and its role in the sustainability of ecosystems, as well as to discuss ways to preserve natural resources and address environmental challenges resulting from climate change.
The event included several scientific lectures, one of which was titled “Geodiversity: A Cornerstone of Sustainable Development”, presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Akram Mohammed Saleh, representing the Remote Sensing Center.
It is worth mentioning that this workshop is part of a global program launched by UNESCO, and the relevant data and coordinates were directly entered into UNESCO’s official global platform
