As part of the University of Mosul’s efforts to strengthen its scientific journals and enable their inclusion in international databases, Professor Dr. Abdul Rahim Ibrahim Jassim, Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, chaired a meeting on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, with the editors-in-chief and managing editors of the university’s scientific journals.

During the meeting, the approved scientific publishing and indexing standards were discussed, along with the most important factors contributing to the journals’ scientific rigor while adhering to publishing ethics. Emphasis was placed on establishing clear scientific policies for this purpose, policies that will contribute to achieving advanced impact factors, thus enabling the journals to be indexed in Scopus, a global database. This will serve the institution, its scientific and research activities, and ensure its global dissemination.
