The President of the University of Mosul, Prof. Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, met today, Monday, January 26, 2026, with students of the “Study in Iraq” program, in the presence of the Scientific and Administrative Assistants, in a step aimed at establishing a direct channel of dialogue to overcome obstacles facing international students and enhance their academic journey.

During the meeting, the University President affirmed the university’s commitment to providing a stable educational environment that fosters creativity, conveying a reassuring message to the students that they are an integral part of the university family, while emphasizing the university’s commitment to equipping them with the skills necessary to compete in the labor market.

In this context, data from the electronic system revealed broad geographical diversity, reflecting confidence in the university’s academic standing. Sudan ranked first in terms of student numbers, with 131 students, followed by Syria with 77 students and Yemen with 57 students, in addition to students from Palestine, Bangladesh, and other countries.

The scientific colleges also recorded notable interest, led by the College of Engineering with 55 students, followed by the College of Computer Science and Mathematics with 45 students, and the College of Administration and Economics with 41 students. This further confirms the distinguished academic standing of the University of Mosul across various fields of specialization.
