Head of Hotel Studies Department Gives Lecture on Women’s Role

In collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit and hosted by the Central Library, Assistant Professor Dr. Manal Abdul-Jabbar Al-Samak, Head of the Hotel Studies Department, delivered a valuable lecture titled “The Role of Women in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals” on Monday, September 30, 2024. Mr. Saif Al-Ashqar, Secretary-General of University Libraries, and a group of university staff attended the event. Mrs. Ruaa Asim, Head of the Electronic Library, introduced the workshop, which was moderated by Mrs. Saba Maad Al-Jubouri.

The lecture discussed the concept of sustainable development, its key aspects, and how it provides individuals with a better quality of life while preserving the environment for future generations. It emphasized managing resources without depleting the Earth’s natural reserves. Dr. Al-Samak also highlighted women’s significant role in environmental sustainability through raising children and their professional contributions across various fields.

At the end of the event, Dr. Al-Samak was awarded a certificate of appreciation for her efforts in organizing the workshop.
