Hotel Studies Department Holds a Scientific Workshop

As part of the scientific activities organised by our college, and in cooperation with the Presidency of the University of Mosul / Department of Studies and Planning / Sustainable Development Unit, the Hotel Studies Department held a scientific workshop titled “The Impact of Tourism Development on Achieving Quality Performance” on Monday, March 3, 2025. This workshop is part of a series of events designed to enhance awareness and expand knowledge among staff members and those interested in the field of tourism.

The workshop was presented by Asst. Lecturer Heba Khalid Bakr, in the presence of the Dean of the College, the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, the Head of the Hotel Studies Department, and several college employees. The session included a range of questions and discussions that enriched the topic and deepened the dialogue.

The workshop aimed to shed light on the importance of tourism development in enhancing performance quality in the hotel and tourism sectors, and on how to respond to the continuous changes in this field to provide outstanding services that ensure customer satisfaction and support sustainable success in this vital industry.

This activity aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) through promoting continuous learning and professional development, Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by enhancing workforce competencies in the tourism sector, Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) through improving the quality of tourism services, and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) as it reflects collaboration between the college and the Sustainable Development Unit at the university.
