Distinguished Workshop on Intellectual Property Rights

Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Tourism Sciences, Prof. Dr. Manal Raafat Khalid, the College of Tourism Sciences, in cooperation with the University of Mosul Presidency / Department of Studies and Planning / Sustainable Development Unit, organized a workshop entitled “Intellectual Property Rights in the Digital World” on Thursday, 30 April 2026.

The workshop was delivered by Prof. Dr. Aida Mohammed Ubaid, who discussed the concept of intellectual property rights and their importance in the digital environment, as well as the challenges facing their protection amid rapid technological advancement. The lecture also highlighted the legal and academic mechanisms necessary for safeguarding these rights and raising awareness about them, contributing to the promotion of a culture that respects intellectual production and protects creativity.

The workshop was attended by a number of the college staff members due to the importance of the topic in enhancing their academic and legal awareness, as well as promoting responsible use of digital resources within the university environment.

It is worth noting that this workshop aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4: “Quality Education” and Goal 9: “Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure,” in line with the University of Mosul’s vision to support sustainable development pathways and foster an academic environment that encourages creativity, innovation, and the protection of intellectual rights.
