Participation of the Hotel Studies Department in a Scientific Conference
The Hotel Studies Department was represented at the First National Conference on Empowering Women’s Roles in Managing Institutions Dealing with Women, under the slogan “Women: The Icon of Sustainable Peace in Iraq.” Both Asst. Prof. Dr. Manal Abdul Jabbar Al-Sammak, Head of the Hotel Studies Department, and Prof. Dr. Alaa Abdullah Hussein, a department faculty member, participated in this conference.
Held in Erbil on Thursday, April 25th, 2024, their participation included presenting two papers. The first, presented by Dr. Manal, was titled “Measures to Combat Harassment in Communities.” In contrast, the second, presented by Dr. Alaa, addressed the topic of “Physical Violence Against Working Women and Its Impact on Their Development and Sustainability.”
The conference aimed to discuss a critically important topic: achieving gender equality. It’s worth noting that Dr. Manal served as the head of the scientific committee, while Dr. Alaa was a distinguished member.
In conclusion, both received awards for excellence and institutional creativity for their outstanding contributions to enriching the conference with impactful insights.
