Scientific Visit for Students of the Tourism Sciences College to Hammam Al-Alil District
On Wednesday, April 24th, 2024, students of the Tourism Sciences College, accompanied by the Assistant Professor and Dean of the College, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Naif Mahmoud, and a group of faculty members, conducted a scientific visit to Hammam Al-Alil District, a destination renowned for its therapeutic tourism in Ninawa.
The visit was part of a series of planned visits outlined in a comprehensive program aimed at broadening students’ horizons and enhancing their knowledge of tourism and its various types in Iraq in general, and Ninawa Governorate in particular.
The students were welcomed by Mr. Khalid Mohammed Mahmoud Al-Tuhtouh, the Director of Hammam Al-Alil District, who provided a comprehensive explanation of the natural features of the area and its sulfuric mineral springs, including the three springs: Al-Kubra Spring, Zuhra Spring, and Fasousa Spring. He mentioned that the district was named after the healing waters of its springs, which attract visitors seeking to enjoy their therapeutic hot waters.
Afterward, they visited the waterfront and Tel Al-Sabt before heading to the final stop in the visit program, the mineral baths which contain various minerals in addition to sulfur.
At the end of the visit, the Dean of the College extended his thanks and appreciation to Mr. Khalid Al-Tuhtouh and Mrs. Shaimaa Hadi Mahmoud, the Director of the Women’s Mineral Baths Center, for their gracious hospitality and warm welcome.
