The College of Tourism Sciences in Service of the Community

Under the guidance of the Dean of the College of Tourism Sciences, Asst. Prof. Dr Mohammed Mahmood, under the supervision of Prof. Dr Alaa Abdullah Hussein, and the College of Tourism Sciences organised a visit to the Orphanage, Al-Zuhour Home, and the Elderly Care Home on Wednesday, March 12, 2025. The visit was attended by the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Manal Raafat Khalid, along with a group of faculty members and staff.

During the visit, in-kind donations and assistance were provided to the elderly and children to bring joy to their hearts. The participants also examined their living conditions and needs, seeking to offer the necessary support.

It is worth noting that this visit represents one of the key activities organized by the college as part of its social responsibility. It reflects the values of compassion and solidarity within society, highlighting the University of Mosul’s—and the College of Tourism Sciences in particular’s—commitment to serving the community and supporting its various groups. This initiative aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals, including Goal 1 (No Poverty), Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities).
