Professor Shaker Al-Jurjari Visits the College of Tourism Sciences to Enhance Academic Cooperation
The College of Tourism Sciences hosted Professor Dr. Shaker Saeed Al-Jurjari, Professor of English at the University of Kentucky / Washington, who was a distinguished guest at the college on Tuesday, August 12, 2025. The visit aimed to explore opportunities for scientific and cultural cooperation between the two institutions.
He was received by the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Manal Raafat Khalid. During the meeting, mechanisms of academic collaboration between the College of Tourism Sciences and its counterpart at the University of Kentucky were discussed, including the launch of visiting professor initiatives, the implementation of joint research projects, and the enhancement of academic presence both locally and internationally, in line with the University of Mosul’s vision of academic openness and engagement with global universities.
After the visit, both parties expressed their aspiration to hold similar meetings in the future, thereby strengthening academic partnerships and opening new horizons for fruitful cooperation, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4: ensuring quality education for all, and Goal 17: partnerships for the goals.
