The College of Tourism Sciences Participates in the First International Conference on Archaeological Tourism at Al-Noor University

The College of Tourism Sciences participated in the First International Conference on Archaeological Tourism and Its Role in Reviving the Economy and Achieving Sustainable Development, held by Al-Noor University on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, under the theme: “Cultural Heritage: The Creativity of Ancestors and the Responsibility of Descendants.”

The college’s participation came through the selection of Prof. Dr. Manal Raafat Khalid, the College’s dean, as a member of the conference’s scientific committee in recognition of her distinguished academic standing and scholarly contributions in the field of tourism.

In addition, Prof. Dr. Raed Ameer Rasheed, Head of the Department of Tourism Studies, and Dr. Haitham Hussein, the department’s rapporteur, also took part in the event by presenting research papers that explored the role of archaeological tourism in supporting the national economy and achieving sustainable development.

This participation reflects the College of Tourism Sciences’ commitment to strengthening its academic and research presence, and its active contribution to the advancement of the tourism and heritage sectors — in line with Sustainable Development Goal 17, which focuses on fostering partnerships to achieve development.
