College of Tourism Sciences Continues Its Training Course on Combating Financial and Administrative Corruption

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Manal Raafat Khalid, Dean of the College of Tourism Sciences, the college continued on Thursday, November 6, 2025, the activities of its training course titled “Legislations and Laws in Combating Financial and Administrative Corruption and Their Impact on the Development of the Tourism Sector.”

This course is part of the college’s ongoing efforts to enhance legal awareness and promote the values of integrity and transparency within institutional work.

Today’s lecture was delivered by Dr. Saeed Khadida Qolo, Head of the Human Rights Division at the Presidency of the University of Mosul, who discussed “Financial and Administrative Corruption: The Constitutional and Legislative Framework for Combating It in Iraq and Its Implications for Development and the Tourism Sector.”

The course aims to highlight the crucial role of laws and regulations in reducing corruption and supporting sustainable development efforts in the tourism sector, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—particularly Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), which emphasises building effective and transparent institutions capable of combating corruption and fostering justice and development.
