The College of Tourism Sciences Holds a Training Course on Tourism Security

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Waheed Mahmood Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Manal Raafat Khalid, Dean of the College of Tourism Sciences, the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Tourism Sciences, in cooperation with the Presidency of the University of Mosul / Department of Studies and Planning / Sustainable Development Unit, organized a training course entitled: “Tourism Security and Combating Blackmail and Exploitation in the Tourism and Hospitality Sector”, held from 16–20 October 2025.

The course commenced on Sunday, 16 October, with an opening speech delivered by the Dean of the College, followed by a lecture presented by Asst. Lecturer Senaria Nabil Mohammed entitled “Tourism Security as a Pillar of Sustainable Tourism Development.”

The course aims to enhance awareness of the importance of tourism security as a fundamental element in protecting both tourists and institutions, and in reducing cases of blackmail and exploitation within the tourism and hospitality sector.

The Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, department heads, and staff members of the college attended the event.

The course aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), namely: Goal 1 (No Poverty), Goal 2 (Zero Hunger), Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 5 (Gender Equality), Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions).
