College of Tourism Sciences Launches Awareness Campaign on the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty
On the occasion of the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, observed annually on October 17, and in accordance with the directives of the Presidency of the University of Mosul, the Legal Unit at the College of Tourism Sciences, in cooperation with the Human Rights Unit at the University Presidency, carried out an awareness campaign inside the college aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of poverty and its impact on individuals and society, as well as promoting a culture of social solidarity.
The campaign was supervised by Judicial Assistant Mr. Rezgar Abdullah Mustafa, who distributed awareness posters to the college staff. These posters included messages encouraging support for vulnerable groups and efforts to build a cohesive society capable of addressing the challenges of poverty. He emphasized the important role educational institutions play in enhancing legal and social awareness and in fostering a culture of shared responsibility.
This campaign aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 1 (No Poverty) by raising awareness about the causes of poverty and ways to reduce it, and Goal 10 (Reduced Inequalities) through supporting initiatives that promote social justice.
