An Awareness Workshop at the College of Tourism Sciences on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women

On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, the College of Tourism Sciences held an awareness workshop titled “Violence Against Women” on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, in collaboration with the Presidency of the University of Mosul / Department of Studies and Planning / Sustainable Development Unit.
Prof. Dr. Aida Mohammed Obaid and Ms. Aseel Sultan presented the workshop.

The workshop aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of violence against women, highlight the mechanisms that contribute to reducing this phenomenon, and empower women with knowledge about their rights within society, while reinforcing a culture of respect for their status and humanitarian role.

The event was attended by the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and a group of faculty members and staff, who actively participated by posing questions and comments that enriched the discussion and broadened the scope of dialogue.

This activity aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 5 (Gender Equality), and Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions).
