Overview of the Industrial Advisory Council at the College of Tourism Sciences

To strengthen the partnership between academia and the tourism and hospitality sector, the College of Tourism Sciences has established an Industrial Advisory Council composed of a select group of experts and specialists in tourism and hospitality from both public and private sector institutions in Nineveh Governorate. The council aims to support the educational process by contributing to the review and development of academic programs in both the Department of Tourism Studies and the Department of Hotel Studies.

The council includes the Dean of the College,  the heads of the academic departments concerned, in addition to a group of professionals with extensive experience in the fields of tourism and hospitality. The council holds regular meetings, at least once every semester, to discuss learning outcomes, align them with labor market requirements, and propose necessary updates to the curricula to ensure they keep pace with local and global developments in the tourism and hospitality sector.

The council also seeks to activate collaboration between the college and professional institutions by organizing workshops and training seminars that enable students to connect theoretical knowledge with practical application and equip them with the skills required in the job market. This council is an effective platform for supporting the quality of education, enhancing employment opportunities for graduates, and building bridges of communication with the industrial and tourism community.
