The Sustainable Development Committee at our Center participated in a workshop organized by the Department of Studies and Planning at the Presidency of the University of Mosul on Monday, July 7, 2025, entitled:
“Times Ranking and the Mechanism for Filling the Sustainable Development Tables.”

The workshop aimed to clarify the foundations and criteria adopted in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings (THE Impact Rankings), with a focus on how to prepare and document the required data, as well as explaining the steps for completing the tables related to the indicators approved by the United Nations in assessing universities’ commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The workshop included a detailed explanation of the mechanisms for collecting data from colleges and various academic and administrative units, highlighting the importance of institutional documentation in supporting the university’s position within international rankings. It also presented the technical requirements necessary to ensure the accuracy and comprehensiveness of the submitted data.

In-depth discussions were held on the most prominent challenges facing the teams responsible for collecting and auditing data, particularly those related to unifying data sources and documentation mechanisms. A number of recommendations were also proposed to improve data quality and facilitate the process of entering it into the ranking system.

This workshop comes as part of the University of Mosul’s ongoing efforts to enhance its academic standing at the international level and to achieve institutional excellence in the fields of education, scientific research, and community service through serious engagement with the Sustainable Development Goals.
