The Center Concludes a Training Course on Groundwater Quality in Nineveh Governorate

The Dams and Water Resources Research Center at the University concluded its training course entitled:
“Groundwater Quality in Nineveh Governorate,”
held from November 23–27, 2025, in cooperation with the Department of Planning and Follow-up / Sustainable Development Unit at the University Presidency. The course was attended by more than 30 employees from government departments related to water resources, environment, geology, and agriculture in Nineveh Governorate.
The course included eight theoretical and practical lectures delivered by several faculty members of the Center, covering comprehensive engineering, geological, and chemical aspects of groundwater, including:
- Understanding the current status of groundwater in Nineveh Governorate.
- Water quality and its areas of use.
- Groundwater hydraulics.
- Groundwater distribution and detection methods.
- The impact of Mosul’s geological characteristics on groundwater.
The course aimed to develop participants’ capabilities and enable them to apply modern scientific methods in assessing and managing water resources, thereby enhancing the skills of technical staff in the province’s governmental institutions.
