Mosul University Announces the Launch of Season Two of the ‘Readers Challenge’… A Pioneering Initiative to Support Reading Culture in Nineveh

The University of Mosul announces the launch of Season Two of the “Readers Challenge 2,” the largest reading initiative in Nineveh Governorate, aimed at promoting a culture of reading and knowledge among the women and girls of Mosul. This initiative is in collaboration with the Mosul Heritage Foundation, Raseef Books, the University of Nineveh, the Nineveh Education Directorate, and is sponsored by the Iraqi National Bank.

The competition seeks to revive the spirit of reading and self-learning, encourage readers to build a cultural environment that is engaged with books, and empower Mosul women culturally, preparing outstanding participants for future Arab and international competitions.

Participation is divided into three categories: primary school, secondary school, and university students, as well as graduates and non-students. The total prize pool amounts to 10 million Iraqi dinars, along with gifts, certificates of appreciation, and special honors for outstanding participants and the most active institutions supporting the initiative.

The competition dates are as follows:
⦁ Preliminary Online Test: Tuesday, October 14, 2025 – 8:00 PM.

⦁ Final Paper Test: Saturday, October 18, 2025 – at the College of Education for Girls, University of Mosul.

⦁ Closing Ceremony and Awards: At the University of Mosul Theater, including a celebration of Mosuli scholar Dr. Ahmed Qasim Al-Jumaa, author of Sitting by the Banks of Mosul Heritage.

Competition books are available in paper format at the Mosul Heritage House and Hossam Aldeen Library, and can also be accessed electronically through the Raseef Books channel on Telegram.

This cultural initiative extends the role of the University of Mosul in supporting community and knowledge projects that contribute to building a reading and aware generation, while also embodying the role of Mosul women as creators of the cultural and human horizons in Nineveh.
