The Department of Management Information Systems at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, discussed the research of the Higher Diploma in Business Information Technology tagged “Factors affecting the adoption of digital wallets from the point of view of the beneficiaries: a survey study at the University of Mosul”.
The study relied on a set of motivational and inhibitory factors to test the intention of individuals towards adopting the digital wallet, the motivational factors were derived from the UTAUT theory, which is expected performance, expected effort, and social impact, as well as both the expected trust, security and expected privacy factor derived from the relevant literature.
The study found several results, the most important of which are: the presence of a positive and significant impact of the expected performance factors, the expected effort, the social impact, the expected security, the expected privacy, and confidence in the intention to adopt the digital wallet, and on the other hand, the factors of avoiding regret and technology anxiety did not show a negative impact on the adoption of the digital wallet.
The discussion committee was headed by Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Zuhair Tawfiq and the membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Ramadan Mahmoud Remo and the membership and supervision of the teacher Dr. Muhammad Assem Mohamed.
