The Department of Accounting at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, discussed the research of the higher diploma tagged “The role of internal control in activating sustainable environmental performance: an applied study in the Directorate of Mosul Municipality”.

Part of it was attended by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Thaeir Ahmed Saadoon Al-Samman.

The current study… Which was submitted by the student “Nada Ahmed Hussein” in the Department of Accounting to: shed light on the theoretical framework of internal control and the concept of sustainability and sustainable performance, and the definition of the nature and importance of sustainable environmental performance, and a statement of internal control requirements to activate sustainable environmental performance, and at the level of the applied study aims to show the role of internal control in activating and improving sustainable environmental performance in the Directorate of Mosul Municipality.

The study reached the most important conclusions: that the internal control department of the sectors or units of the Municipality Directorate is followed up periodically and continuously (sudden movement) to determine the extent of their commitment to environmental policy and update appropriate procedures to improve sustainable environmental performance.

The discussion committee was headed by Assistant Professor Dr. Alaa Abdel Wahed Dhanoun, and the membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Seif El-Din Amjad Ismail, and the membership and supervision of the teacher, Dr. Shaima Muhammad Samir.
