In implementation of the instructions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the directives of the Presidency of the University of Mosul, a workshop was held by the College of Administration and Economics in cooperation with the Nineveh Security Directorate entitled “Electronic extortion and the extent of its dangers to university students and the scourge of drugs and its harm to society” on Wednesday, December 13, 2023… 10 a.m. in Discussion Room 2
In the presence of the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Thaeir Ahmed Saadoon Al-Samman, and the Dean’s assistants for scientific and administrative affairs.

The workshop opened with an awareness lecture by Captain Ali from the Communications Division of the Nineveh Security Directorate, in which he talked about the extreme and dangerous importance to society in general and to university students in particular and warned of the danger of the electronic blackmail process that our students may be exposed to and explained the most important methods of preventing the electronic blackmail process, then followed by a lecture delivered by Captain Hassan from the security of the University of Mosul, in which he talked about drugs and their harms, which is one of the widespread social ills. In the countries of the world without exception .The workshop aimed to spread awareness among students on how to protect and prevent the risks of exposure to electronic blackmail. The phenomenon of electronic extortion is one of the relatively recent phenomena, which has expanded with the spread of the Internet and that this phenomenon has become affecting the groups of Iraqi society without exception, but students in particular are more vulnerable to this as a result of their reliance on technology in learning, as well as directing students about the most important physical and psychological effects of drug abuse and its relationship to crimes and in order to address these dangerous phenomena, the College of Administration and Economics / University of Mosul has held this awareness workshop.
