The Department of Economics at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, discussed the master’s thesis tagged “Monetary and real sources of nominal exchange rate fluctuations in a number of developing countries for the period from (1990-2020)”.

Part of it was attended by the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Thaeir Ahmed Saadoon Al-Samman.

The current study presented by the student “Harith Muthana Muhammad Amin” in the Department of Economics aimed to: discuss the sources of exchange rate fluctuations in selected developing countries as most of the fluctuations in the real exchange rate are in fact related to nominal exchange rate deviations.

The study concluded to conclusions, including: that the sources of fluctuations in the nominal exchange rate, both monetary and real, exert an impact in the short and long term, whether negative or positive, which strengthened the hypothesis from which the research was launched.

The discussion committee was headed by Prof. Hamid Hassan Khalaf from the University of Tikrit, and the membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Abdullah Khader Abtan, and Assistant Professor Mrs. Rafah Adnan Najm, and under the supervision and membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Saadoun Hussein Farhan.
