The Department of Economics at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, discussed the master’s thesis tagged “The Role of Monetary and Fiscal Policy in Addressing Inflation in a Sample of Selected Countries”.
The current study presented by the student “Hussein Muhammad Abdul Moeen Dhanoun” in the Department of Economics aimed to measure and determine the significant relationships of the monetary and financial economic variables and to measure the significance of their impact on inflation in the short and long term for the sample countries and for the period of time (1990-2021), in order to achieve economic goals and avoid contradiction or incompatibility of the relationship when using both policies.
The study concluded several conclusions, most notably: the suitability of self-regression models for distributed slowdown to represent the relationship between the inflation rate as a dependent variable and monetary policy variables (broad money supply, real exchange rate, nominal interest rate).monetary policy variables (broad money supply, real exchange rate, nominal interest rate) and fiscal policy variables (public spending, public revenues, public debt) dealt with as percentages of GDP as independent variables.
The discussion committee was headed by Prof. Dr. Haider Ali Muhammad Al-Dulaimi from Future University / College of Administrative Sciences, and the membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Saadoun Hussein Farhan, and Assistant Professor Mrs. Rafah Adnan Najm, and under the supervision and membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Aws Fakhr Al-Din Ayoub.
