The Department of Economics at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, discussed the master’s thesis tagged “The impact of public transport on sustainable development with reference to Iraq”.
Part of it was attended by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Thaeir Ahmed Saadoon Al-Samman.
The current study presented by the student “Anas Ayad Khaled Saeed” in the Department of Economics aimed to: The impact of public transport on sustainable development, as public transport is one of the basic features of sustainable cities that receive increasing attention from the countries of the world and the international community within the framework of sustainable development.
The study concluded to the most important conclusions: that public transport has a positive moral impact on economic growth and a negative moral impact on air pollution represented by the emission of capon dioxide, and both results indicate that public transport achieves sustainable development goals, especially in their economic and environmental dimensions.
The discussion committee was headed by Assistant Professor Dr. Mufid Thanoun Younis, and the membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Bakhtiar Saber Muhammad from Salahaddin University – Erbil, and Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Waheed Hassan, under the supervision and membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Ibrahim Adeeb Chalabi.
