The Department of Management Information Systems at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, discussed the master’s thesis tagged “The effect of information stress dimensions on the purchase decision: the mediating role of social media fatigue: a survey of a sample of online shoppers”

Part of it was attended by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Thaer Ahmed Saadoon Al-Samman and the Administrative Assistant.

The current study submitted by the student “Shahd Laith Malallah” in the Department of Management Information Systems aims to: Test the impact of the dimensions of information stress, represented by information overload, communication overload, social overload and irrelevant information on shoppers’ purchase decision for products through social media.

For the purpose of achieving this, the study used the framework (stresses-emotions-results) and by using the quantitative approach and the survey method through an electronic questionnaire distributed to shoppers subscribed to social media specialized in shopping.

A set of results were reached, the most important of which are: there was no statistically significant effect of information overload, communication overload, irrelevant information, and social media fatigue in the purchase decision, with the exception of social overload.

The discussion committee was headed by Prof. Dr. Raad Adnan Raouf, and the membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Nibal Younis Muhammad from the Northern Technical University / Administrative Technical College Mosul, and Assistant Prof. Dr. Ahmed Zuhair Tawfiq, under the supervision and membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Bassam Abdul Rahman Youssef.
