The Department of Economics at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, discussed the master’s thesis tagged “The impact of some macroeconomic variables on the foreign trade of some Arabic countries for the period (1990-2022)”
This study, presented by the student “Obaid Jassim Obaid” in the Department of Economics, seeks to: identify some economic variables (exchange rate, unemployment, inflation, economic growth rate, total foreign direct investment flows) that affect foreign trade and identify the economic effects of these variables significantly in the short and long term in foreign trade on the economies of the sample countries.
The study reached a number of conclusions, the most important of which were: that the high inflation rates as a result of the increase in foreign imports is due to the high oil revenues significantly, which encouraged governments to increase public spending various economic programs, which led to the resort to imports to cover this demand, which raised the cost of domestic investment and inflation;
The discussion committee was headed by Assistant Professor Dr. Abdel Allah Khader Abtan, and the membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Nizar Siddiq Elias, and Assistant Professor Dr. Ghassan Ibrahim Mohamed from the University of Tikrit, and under the supervision and membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Rabah Jamil Saad El-Din.
