The Department of Management Information Systems at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, discussed the master’s thesis tagged “Adopting metaverse technology directed at knowledge management: a survey study in the faculties of the medical group of the universities of Mosul and Nineveh”.

This current study presented by the student “Haitham Onaizan Owain” in the Department of Management Information Systems examines the behavioral intentions of faculty members in higher education institutions with regard to the adoption of metaverse technology directed at knowledge management, and the current study is based on the unified theory of acceptance and use of expanded technology (UTAUT2), as well as the characteristics of metaverse technology represented by (interaction, stability, embodiment) as well as knowledge management processes represented in (generation, storage, sharing, application).

A set of results were reached, the most important of which are: strengthening the technical and organizational infrastructure of the medical group colleges, enhancing technical and organizational support, forming a feasibility study team to assess the feasibility of applying metaverse technology, forming a team skilled in metaverse technology, setting governance standards to ensure the use of metaverse technology guided by knowledge management in line with legal and regulatory standards, and establishing a dedicated unit to track the latest technical developments that serve the medical educational sector at the universities of Mosul and Nineveh.

The discussion committee was headed by Assistant Professor Dr. Amal Ghaleb Rashid from the University of Babylon, and the membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Zuhair Tawfiq, and Assistant Professor Dr. Hoda Abdel Rahim Hussein, and under the supervision and membership of Prof. Dr. Amer Abdul Razzaq Abdul Mohsen.
