The Department of Accounting at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, discussed the master’s thesis tagged “Evaluating sustainable environmental performance according to the standards of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI)
And its reflection on public sector governance / a proposed model.”
Part of it was attended by the Scientific Assistant Prof. Dr. Munir Salem Taha and Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Thaeir Ahmed Saadoon Al-Samman.
The aim of the current study submitted by the student “Ahmed Ramadan Mohammed”
In the accounting section to: Explain the concept of performance evaluation in general and interdisciplinary performance evaluation in particular by highlighting the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the standards and indicators issued by it, especially with regard to environmental indicators.
The study concluded the most important conclusions: The adoption of GRI standards in the process of evaluating environmental performance works significantly in various ways. It was also shown that the transparency of environmental processes and procedures was enhanced, which leads to an increased level of accountability among entities and that there is a positive impact of the application of these standards.
The discussion committee was headed by Prof. Dr. Luqman Muhammad Ayoub, and the membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Ashraf Hashem Fares from the University of Tikrit, and Assistant Professor Dr. Alaa Abdel Wahed Dhanoun, under the supervision and membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Kobra Muhammad Taher Hammoudi.
