The Department of Economics at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, discussed the doctoral thesis tagged “The Impact of Some Macroeconomic Variables on the Double Deficit of Selected Countries”

Part of it was attended by the President of the University of Mosul, Prof. Dr. Qusai Kamal Al-Din Al-Ahmadi, the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Thaeir Ahmed Saadoon Al-Samman, and the Dean’s assistants for scientific and administrative affairs.

The current study targeted … Which was submitted by the student “Shehab Ahmed Mohamed” in the Department of Economics to: that macroeconomic policies have a major role and a direct impact on both the budget deficit of a state and the current account deficit, so it is necessary to analyze the macroeconomic policy environment in these countries, and to know the impact of monetary, financial and trade variables on the double deficit.

The study reached a set of conclusions, the most important of which are: that fiscal, monetary and trade policies are an important factor in improving the current account balance and reducing the budget deficit, and they are the ones with a rapid and decisive response to correct the imbalance in the current account and the government budget deficit.

The discussion committee was headed by Prof. Dr. Hashim Muhammad Abdullah, and with the membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Burhan Othman Hussein from the University of Kirkuk, Assistant Professor Dr. Rabah Jamil Saad El-Din, Assistant Professor Dr. Abdul Wahab Thanoun Saadoun, Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Waheed Hassan, and the supervision and membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Abdullah Khader Abtan.
