The Department of Accounting at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, discussed the doctoral thesis tagged “Designing Accounting Information Systems under the Use of Blockchain Technology – A Proposed Framework”.

Part of it was attended by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Thaeir Ahmed Saadoon Al-Samman, and the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs.

The current study targeted … Which was submitted by the student “Fadel Abbas Sultan” in the Department of Accounting to: Identify the nature of Blockchain technology and its use in accounting, identify the challenges and requirements necessary for the development and design of accounting information systems under the use of this technology, and identify the components and components of accounting information systems under the use of the technology itself.

The study reached a set of conclusions, the most important of which are: The design of accounting information systems under the use of Blockchain technology enhances trust, credibility, transparency, security and objectivity, achieving the quality of accounting information, coordinating, exchanging and sharing data while improving business processes, and that the use of this technology leads to the acquisition of accountants working on accounting information systems experience and knowledge and change their roles to provide advice.

The discussion committee was headed by Prof. Dr. Bakr Ibrahim Mahmoud from Al-Mustansiriya University, and with the membership of Prof. Dr. Rizgar Abdullah Saber from Salahaddin University / Erbil, Assistant Professor Dr. Kobra Muhammad Taher Hammoudi, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Malallah Abdullah, Assistant Professor Dr. Taha Ahmed Hassan, and the membership and supervision of Prof. Dr. Ziad Hashem Yahya.
