The Department of Economics at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Mosul, discussed the master’s thesis entitled “Estimating and analyzing the relationship between the exchange rate and capital flows under the monetary sterilization policy in a number of developing countries for the period from 1990-2021”

Part of it was attended by the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs.

This study, presented by the student “Ahmed Ali Mahmoud” in the Department of Economics, seeks to: Discuss a very important topic in the stage of monetary theory, namely capital flows and their reflections on the real exchange rate under the monetary sterilization policy, and in four developing countries, namely (Brazil – Iraq – Egypt – Algeria).

The study reached a number of conclusions, the most important of which was: that the use of these countries of partial monetary sterilization and the use of this policy as a selective measure slightly mitigated the changes in the real exchange rate in some of these countries).

The discussion committee was headed by Assistant Professor Dr. Aws Fakhr El-Din Ayoub, and included Assistant Professor Dr. Mamdouh Atallah Fayhan from Anbar University, and Assistant Professor Ms. Rifah Adnan Najm, under the supervision and membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Saadoun Hussein Farhan.
